If you are a single mother, feeling in need of assistance, may I direct you to this site: Financial Help for Single Moms. There are some links to private concerns willing to hand out money. Go for it! I have no problem with you using a private institution for help. In fact, think about your parents as well. It has been my experience that parents are always willing to look beyond mistakes in judgment to help. Unfortunately, when I followed some of the links to a nonprofit (www.sunshinelady.org) I was confronted with a site that had more information for applying for more public assistance. When I spelled out the URL, I found the site with news announcements about getting more government grants freed up. WTF?!?!?!? A nonprofit directing people to government grants.
Continuing down the road of what we can expect from the US Govt: In order to get around the stigma of WELFARE, the site uses the term "Government Grant." And how does this site define Government Grant:
Grants: you do not want to pay back grants as you do with loans. They are given to single moms who are desperately in need of them.Liberal jargoness takes another strange turn. Money given by the government to an individual, not requiring a loan repayment, is called a GRANT. The list includes grants for housing, grants for college, grants for rent, grants for day care, and the final grants for the ubiquitous other financial needs. Welfare by yet another liberal name.

And now for my response to the anonymous-posting single mother....
You have entered the House of the Hard Nekkid Truth. I am MAJ Pain and for the next one-zero-mikes I will be your primary instructor in the administration of the Painful Truth.
So, you are single mother looking to the government to save your butt because you think you are incapable of functioning without a man/government in your life. Guess what? You have already given up. Worse yet, you have condemned your children to generational welfare.
As a parent, you are irresponsible. Maybe, just maybe (assuming that maybe you are not a completely total waste of human flesh), you are a widow from a most catastrophic situation involving your husband. Responsible people carry life insurance. If your husband really cared and if you were really a responsible individual then there would have been a good policy to help you get past what happened. You would not require the USeless F(ucking)ederal Govt to hold a gun to my head, to screw over my family, to steal from me, so that you can in some way, be made “whole.”
I know, maybe you and the father of your children were just really young, barely making enough to get by, could not afford insurance. So, being the fine public school educated kids you were, you made some really important life decisions in the back seat of a car. And here you are, destitute with children. And all of this makes it a requirement on me, someone who made responsible decisions, someone who set aside for my family should I die, to give that up, facing down the barrel of the government gun, to sacrifice my family’s security for your lousy decisions, your selfish desires, your irresponsibility. You did this to your children, NOT ME! That is correct woman. You are not a victim. YOU ARE A FILTHY LAZY IRRESPONSIBLE BITCH THAT WILL STEAL FROM EVERYONE ELSE TO MAKE UP FOR YOUR LIBERAL BULLSHIT.
So, let us cover that stupid remark about military retirement. I am a veteran. I have 100% disability and a medical discharge from the Army. I spent time in recovery. When I was able to work, I stopped taking any further retirement from the Army and checked out of the VA. When I entered into the service long ago, a compensatory agreement existed between the US and me that was all consecrated by law under the requirements of the US Constitution to provide for a standing Army, to defend against all enemies foreign and domestic. Under that law, it was recognized that I would sacrifice myself to serve this country and in return the US Government would compensate me on the level commensurate with that sacrifice. Anyone receiving a military retirement check also carries orders in the event that the US Govt calls any of us back to duty. This is compensation for us to be ready in the event we might be called back, not an entitlement.
You filthy liberals will fight tooth and nail for a school teacher to get their pension and yet you will gladly screw over a soldier who lost a leg, or a double amputee (in the service of this country), because it fits in your selfish, power buying schemes. Personally, I think it is very likely you have children from multiple fathers because you were too strung out on drugs to know what you were doing. On top of that, your children are likely screwed up from your drug/alcohol problems. Someone should tie you to a pole and shoot your filthy liberal ass.
Just like the loser you are, you have to drag down anyone who is successful. Rather than trying to be a success (and there are a lot of very successful single mothers out there that educated themselves, make good salaries, and loath taking a dime from anyone), you gang up with your government mob to destroy successful people. Well once you are done trying, I hope you starve to death from your own greed and jealousy. Unfortunately, the real victims are your children and they will suffer at the hand of another filthy liberal bitch.
